Anyway, as I've said before on these threads... it's really just a cultural thing IMO - there's no right or wrong. Where I grew up in Asia the guy almost always paid for dates, and in fact it was so ingrained in our culture that if a waiter knows you're a couple, he gives the bill to the guy right away, no asking if you want to pay separately.
