I mean don't you think that after a week is a little weird and goes beyond "sewing things up"? As Katie said most people won't wait a week for someone after just one date. One day after the date or two...preferably even right after the date would make so much more sense to send a rejection text because thats the awk period you are not sure if the person is slow at responding or they are not interested.
